Out of the Cave, into the Light – awakening and the future of evolution

Steve Taylor explores the connection between spiritual awakening and evolution. As living beings become more complex physically through evolution, their inner life expands and deepens. They become more sentient and conscious. Spiritual awakening means an intensification of awareness and so is a continuation of this evolutionary process. Evidence suggests that spiritual experiences are being reported more frequently. In his book Extraordinary Awakenings, Steve has shown how common it is for people to awaken due to intense psychological suffering. Our whole species is undergoing a crisis, which may lead to collective awakening. Our survival may depend on this.
